Mothers Day

Hey did you know it’s Mothers day? If you’re hearing it for the first time from me than ohhh boy are you donezo. This is how your mothers day will be going.

Jokes out of the way, I do want to take a moment to talk about my mom, who is… how should I put it. A straight-up dope baller og cool lady. (My guess to my moms reaction to that sentence.) My mom really is a pretty awesome person, and a major reason why is that she has for over twenty-four years now not only tolerated my tomfoolery and shenanigans, but somehow encouraged me to really go out there and my who I am. Although she’t also totally unafraid to call me out on said tomfoolery and shenanigans, and I know when I’m getting called out when she uses my middle name. You know when I hear her Jonathan James that it’s not gonna go my way.

Beyond that my mother also taught me from a young age that, “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything.” I have in my adult years amended that to, “if you don’t have anything nice OR FUNNY to day, don’t say anything.” It’s kinda the same thing right?

Now even though I don’t see her as often as I should, or ever reply to her texts in a timely fashion she does continue to be the shining example of the kind of person I strive to be. She is patient, kind, selfless, funnier than any of you know, and compassionate. Another thing is that she is actually the greatest roaster I’ve even known. The legend of mom burns in the Tollestrup household is something all of her children are familiar with. Before you ask, no she hasn’t taught me the secret to it.

Ok I’ve memed enough I think. I just wanted to let you all know how awesome my mom is, that she’s cooler than your mom, and that I love her dearly. Happy Mother’s day mom!
